About Sea TV
近几年来，我们在各自的生活、旅行中持续性地收集与“海”有关的印刷品，同时也在各地的海岸拍摄，积累声音和影像素材。彼此的兴趣点和有些类似的成长经历促成了这个于2019年开始，以“海”、“与海有关的记忆”为出发点的共同创作。
在不同的海边城市长大，伴随着两人的整个成长过程，“海”成为了一个根植在个人意识中的自然元素。当两人离开自己熟悉的城市，开始在陌生的文化环境中生活的时候，逐渐发觉“与海的关联”成为了各自构建身份认同时不可或缺的因素；并从自身体会中意识到“海”可以是一方人的集体记忆，同时它也屬於個人，存在個體间差異的獨特之處。
这系列作品的起点是Jun在调研时发现泰晤士河的潮汐涨落的时间跟青岛沿海海域时间是相反的。因此，当看到泰晤士河的水位时，脑中自然而然的浮现出自己老家门前那片海的「即时影像」。这让我们联想到此时“海”的意象跨越了时间，在意识中创造出一个“shared moment”，成为了连结并突破了地域的感情载体，它是一个千变万化的状态。
自此，我们提出一个问题：海是什么样子的？
正如山本博司所说“海是一个亘古永恒的存在”，人类作为存活在地球上的物种之一，在连贯向前的时间线中不同的时间点上，持续地与海洋产生联系。海被见证着，同时也见证了许许多多个体的生活。因此，我们收集的实体材料主要包括两大类：（1）海的“官方记录（authoritative material）“例如：新闻、地图、自然记录等（2）跟海洋有閞的“个人物品（personal matarial）”，包括旧照片、幻灯片、书籍记录、明信片等。
看analogue的物件时，物件是被造的、是曾被拥有的，同时物件有着自带的时间根据，当观看者跟物件两者相遇时，不容置疑的逻辑让彼此之间有了用时间丈量的距离。我们收集的个人物品，随之变成了一个关于他者的存档（archive），这份档案中涵盖的身份认同、地理资料、个人历史细节、故事等，由于在庞大的、繁杂的信息中无从溯源而变得抽象，演化成了收藏者的“私有数据”。
在近代历史中，电台、卫星电视、互联网的逐步出现，把人与人之间地理上的距离消除了，这些媒介在人群中的传播和应用大大加速了全球化的发展。数字化的世界让时间和空间的界线变得模糊。如今互联网作为数字人文的主要媒介之一，与自然界的一些存在相类似，成为了一个不被任何人拥有的东西。在这次的创作中，我们对数字化的影像、声音与承载着个体记忆的“旧物”进行再创造。希望将「数字化载体」与「 以个体为来源的人文、历史信息」以诗性的方式重新组合，使作品成为一个观者与海连结的契机。
我们选择探讨数字化内容中的一个重要形式：影像。我们追溯到最初使“影像”在人群中实现了大众化传播交流的工具：电视；它是能够将电子信号转化为连续动态的影像和声音的装置，也是声音、影像讯息传播的载体。
我们将这一突破性媒介的意象进行了转化，创作了这次的作品 —— The Sea Tv。在Digital Humanity线上展览中，作品通过模拟网络卫星电视的方式，以网站的形式展出，初期设有4个频道。我们希望以这次驻留的机会为起点，在未来6个月的时间内，继续丰富影像内容，扩充频道数量，同时以实验的方式探索作品在线下呈现的潜力。
About Jun and Bonnie
Jun and Bonnie are a UK-based artist duo who have been working together since 2018.
A Qingdao-native, Jun Wang has lived in Edmonton, Canada and London, UK for the past decade. After obtaining a degree in Industrial Design she further explored printmaking by pursuing a Master’s degree at the Royal College of Art (UK). Jun’s work looks into how we measure time through investigating its relation to nature, the universe and memory. She is fascinated by the most easily overlooked, ubiquitous elements that quietly coexist with us and centres her work around these instinctive moments of the every day.
Bonnie Wong is from Hong Kong and works professionally as an illustrator. She completed her Master’s degree in Print at the Royal College of Art (UK). Bonnie works extensively with two-dimensional media, including prints, photography, and books and uses them to create installations. She makes work by examining and recontextualising found materials. Her work is both socio-political commentary as much as poetic meditation on identity and migration.
Jun and Bonnie's research focuses on the relationship between nature, personal history and languages. Their work encompasses materials including slides, old photos, dictionaries, maps of foreign places and archival documents. There is a strong emphasis on the process of relocation and how it generates interpreted memories and unfamiliarity.
